Men’s team wins inaugural USL2 game 2-1

The Chicago Dutch Lions FC men's team traveled to Springfield on Tuesday to play their inaugural USL2 game vs Springfield ASC at Sacred Heart-Griffin HS. After trailing 1-0 at the half the Lions scored 2 to pick up their first win of the season.

Springfield opened the score in the 32nd minute to give them a 1-0 lead. In the second half Nana Nnuro-Frimpong scored the equalizer in the 62nd minute off an assist of Sodai Koketsu. In the 7oth minute the Lions took the lead when Patrick Koenig delivered an assist for the game winner.

The Lions are already back in action on Thursday May 26 when they take on Chicago FC United at Wheaton College.
