After ending in 2nd place in the WPSL Lake Michigan Conference, Chicago Dutch Lions FC won four awards from the WPSL in their inaugural season.
The club was awarded Best Franchise of the Year, while Nikhil Erlebach was awarded Best Coach of the Year. Abby Schwarz was awarded Best Offensive Player of the Year and Mika Fisher was awarded Best Goalkeeper of the Year.
CEO Bryan Sutherland commented on the awards: "It's absolutely incredible to receive so much recognition in our first season. We had a very short timeline after we announced our new club, and we worked very hard to not only recruit a quality team, but also build a name in the Chicago soccer area as a very professional club providing a great (learning) experience as well as opportunities to become a professional player. We had a very young team that played amazing soccer at times and also had more and more fans coming to support us. It has just been an great experience and I/we can't wait for the 2022 season."
