Women’s team lose 4-0 vs Chicago Red Stars R in opening game

In the Chicago Dutch Lions' first game ever against the Chicago Red Stars Reserves, the Lions lost 4-0 on Sunday, May 30.

The team certainly had some good moments in the game building up through the midfield, and with this being the first game for a whole new team assistant coach Emina Zvizdich was actually pleased with the effort: "Unfortunately, the scoreboard only reflects the final result, but I thought our team came out very strong in our debut as the newest team in town in this league," Zvisdich said. "The Red Stars are a solid opponent and for our first match, gave us a great benchmark to gauge our starting point. Overall, we were very pleased with how our team competed and we look forward to continuing to cement our place in this league.”

The Lions are back in action on Saturday June 5 when they play Milwaukee Bavarian at Benedictine University.
